Welcome! We are excited to introduce you to our program at Desert Academy.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, Desert Academy prepares students for life in the 21st Century in an interconnected world.  Desert Academy students learn critical thinking skills, analysis, and a sense of international-mindedness.  Since its founding in 1994, Desert Academy has earned a reputation for academic excellence and a nurturing, inclusive culture.   Our school provides a unique, caring environment where students can thrive without the typical educational constrictions inherent in public education. With a child-centered approach, our school encourages students to feel ownership in their learning and discover who they are.

The International Baccalaureate program is highly respected across the United States, in Europe where it originated, and across the globe. Providing a rigorous, exciting and culturally engaged middle school and high school education, the International Baccalaureate, through its diploma program, further provides the ideal preparation for undergraduate study.  With recent graduates accepted by Universities such as Stanford, Yale and Columbia, our alumni attend many of the world’s most selective colleges and universities.

But here at Desert, we are more than a record of outstanding achievement in academics.  We offer equally impressive diploma-level visual and performing arts programs, as well as athletics, extracurriculars and service-based programming. We strive to foster an environment that celebrates each individual, holding them carefully through these important years not only academically but also socially and emotionally.  Desert Academy is a welcoming community that will value your student’s unique qualities and offer them a variety of paths to explore.   We welcome you to take the opportunity to visit us, talk with other families in our school community, and learn firsthand what sets Desert Academy apart as the premier independent school in the region.
